our policies
Low food miles are important to us. We always source our
produce from local growers, farmers and producers wherever
possible.
Carrier bags are available but we'd prefer if you could
use the more environmentally friendly options we offer. You're
welcome to take our old produce boxes which are also handy for
use in the shed afterwards! We also have brown paper
bags in the shop and we sell a small range of 'bags for life'.
Composting any produce which is not up to our high
standards allows us to recover valuable nitrates to use as soil
fertiliser.
Rain water collection allows us to minimise the amount of
demand we place on the mains water supply.
Don't forget, not only do our policies make sense from an
environmental and local prosperity point of view, but they also help us to keep our
costs down and pass these savings onto you. That way,
everyone wins!
